Erika Sloper
CEO

I bring extensive commercial experience to the charity, having previously owned and operated a restaurant. For the past 12- years, I have worked for a local charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable adults facing mental health challenges and learning disabilities. In this role, I delivered personalised vocational training specifically for the hospitality sector while building networks and partnerships with outreach venues. My formal qualifications include Level 4 certifications in Adult Education Training, Nutrition, Business, and Events Management, along with being a certified Mental Health First Aider and safeguarding professional. I joined PWNWN in May 2021, motivated by my passion and commitment to fulfilling the vision set by our founders, Bill and Elaine Deans. Together, we have revitalised the organisation and continued to thrive, surpassing Bill and Elaine’s initial goals. “My commitment to mental and physical well-being drives my dedication to support and listen with empathy, guiding our most vulnerable individuals toward a brighter future.” It is a privilege to lead such a committed team. Together, we have concentrated on alleviating financial pressures, promoting healthier lifestyles, and fostering a stronger, more inclusive community. I feel incredibly fortunate to work alongside such an exceptional team.

Leanne Miller
Shop Manager

I bring to the charity a wealth of experience – 15 years in a local charity, expertise in hospitality training, Qualified in Adult Education Training, and a background in managing volunteer teams, particularly with vulnerable adults facing mental health challenges and learning disabilities. This hands-on experience is invaluable to the team. I volunteered for over two years while working at a property management company and was thrilled when the manager position became available. I have been in this role for nearly two years now, and it has been wonderful to collaborate with Erika once more. “Watching the members progress on their journey towards a brighter future is truly rewarding… I couldn’t imagine a better place to work.”

Martin Gregory
Shop Assistant

I bring enthusiasm and joy to the charity, having spent 10 years in the catering industry, where I cooked for 50 children. Unfortunately, due to cuts, I was out of work for a while, which impacted my confidence and skills. I joined PWNWN on August 24th and immediately felt welcomed by the team. Now, as a staff member, I take great pride in supporting others. If you can make someone feel valued, you’ve truly done a good job. I contribute my fun sense of humor, dedication, and strong work ethic to the charity.

Trevor Holmes
Coffee Shop/Shop Assistant

My previous job experiences include working in a butcher shop, operating a burger van, and spending several years in the construction industry. However, when a tumor was discovered in my arm, I had to leave the building trade due to health issues. This led to a decrease in our income and financial struggles. PWNWN became a lifeline for me and my family during this challenging time. To regain my confidence and rebuild my stamina, I decided to volunteer. Since then, I haven’t looked back; a job position opened up, and I have now been here for two years. I truly enjoy the banter and engaging with the members.

Debbie Malem
Shop Assistant

I bring my cheerful personality to the team and truly enjoy connecting with the members, having formed wonderful friendships. Maintaining a clean and organised shop is something I take pride in, and there’s nothing more rewarding than showcasing a vibrant display of fresh fruits and vegetables. I strive to work to the highest standards.

Jonathan Barrett

Having volunteered for a charity for over ten years, I joined PWNWN as a volunteer. After two years of dedicated service, a position opened up, and I am proud to share that I am now part of the staff team. The team provide incredible support in my role. I truly enjoy working and helping others; everyone is so friendly, and I feel valued and appreciated. We are a great team!

Mick Cole
Driver

I became a member of PWNWN to contribute to the community. My passion for helping other people me, and dedicating five evenings a week to gather surplus stock from local supermarkets come rain or shine; brings me immense pleasure. This effort not only helps minimise food waste but also ensures that those in need are nourished. After a year, I transitioned to a staff role, and I have been a part of this organisation for nearly three years, thoroughly enjoying my work here.
